This was my Master's Degree final project at the Catholic University of Portugal. I know It's a bit old but it has a very special place in my memories.

Momentos Decisivos is based on the visual aesthetics that call for meticulous observation of forms of beauty manifested in our day to day.
Their non-verbal narrative, no plot and absent of any actor or argument, consists of a series of fleeting images of nature, water and fire, from a unique perspective, photographically appealing to many defining moments, where the clash occurs and the exhibition forms.

I wanted to do something cool and in a certain way "eye candy". At the time Realflow was the tool that seemed to give the better results regarding fluid simulations and since I was a Maya user I started playing with its fluid system to create fire. The rendering was made in Mental Ray and the final composition in Nuke.

Long story short I think achieved, at that time, some interesting water behaviors but the fire sims were really quite disappointing. I really have to thank the independent Realflow Forum and the artists that help along the way.
A final word of appreciation to Michael Giangrasso that only meet me online and offered himself to make the music for this short.
